Muft Menki delivers a moving lecture in Dar es salaam
Compiled by our Correspondent in Dar es salaam
Mufti Menki from Zimbabwe has gone into his second day of his three day visit in the country.
Today’s program began at the diamond Jubilee in Dar es salaam where subscribed participants most of them women turned up earlier than expected.
What is special in mufti Menki preachings as witnessed in his two lectures in Tanzania is elevating the understanding of his audience through philosophical examples from day to day street life.
He said the world is currently crying for peace. However this is not attainable by following secularism or any other ideology which is not Islam. He made it clear that in Islam tolerance, forgiveness and kindness are highly enhanced at all places.
As an example He himself once helped Christian sisters pushing trolleys at certain airport to the dismay of onlookers whose teachings do not have clear explanations on matters like this.
Muft Menki reminded muslims to consider life in this world as a springboard to the life after death in paradise (jannah) which is ertanal .He said nothing in this world is lasting and even long life of hundreds of years is not significant as it lasts.
Someone may be pleased with whatever good He/she posses but afterwards finds it going away out of him unwillingly .Those ladies who are crowned miss world this year ,they soon find there is another one the following year.
Muslims should not be arrogant if they attain anything they ask Allah for, nor should they despair if they miss what they want.Every thing goes according to Qadar from Allah, the Almighty.According to the Prophet peace be upon Him, What you get was meant for you and what you don't get was not meant for you.
Meanwhile mufti Menki alerted muslims not to misinterpret Qadar in such a way that they become lazy and wait for Qadar to take place for or against them .They always have to do everything at their possession and then wait for Qadar.
Life in the world like life at school
Muft Menk compared some ones life in this world to life in school. When you are in school you go into periodical tests and examinations. Some of the tests are simple and some hard.Only after passing those tests and examinations you graduate and start seeing the fruits of the work you did at school. The same happens in day to day life of ordinary muslims. If a muslim do well in his deeds then he reaps the fruits of his efforts once he dies.In this context death is a step some one should pass through to get rewards for his deeds during his life.
The Zimbabwean muslim scholar wondered how people nowadays have their hearts so hardended that repeated premands do not penetrate in them, but the noble caliph Omar R.A was brought on line with only 4 verses from the Qur’an (Ttahaa: 1-4).Once again He suspected the extra use and misuse of modern technology and in particular mobile phones as main reason causing this mindset to many.
Towards the end of his speech ,muft Ismail Menk encouraged muslims to ask forgiveness from Allah and do good deeds irrespective of their pasts. Muslims should be kind to their fellow human beings and lead them to righteousness. If Allah has forgiven a man who helped a thirty dog.He is always willing to help a man helping his fellow human beings.
